The Amazing Race

So these two decided to run a 5k and 1 mile fun run in September. Actually, Eli didn't decide to run until the night before the race when he heard us talking about it.
Here they are just after they got their numbers.
The other 3 skalawags hangin' out.
Eli stretching. hee hee
On your marks . . .
Glad to be finishing. He had such a determined look on his face.
Komi's turn for the 5k.
Finished!
The kids kept themselves amused while waiting for the awards and freebies.
Oops, that sword didn't last long.
Eli receiving his bronze medal for placing 3rd in boys and 4th overall in the 1 mile run.
Our kids up a tree again, of course. Must be because they grew up in Oregon.
Love those trees!
Showing off their goods. Komi took 2nd in his age group and 10th overall in the 5k. Not bad for their first ever race!

Emma's early 11th Birthday Party

We had Emma's birthday party early this year, too. I bought a skating party at the school auction along with the 'Excite' party. It was fun, but most of the girl's couldn't skate. What has this world come to? Skating on those adjustable metal skates that fit over your shoes was my life when I was their age. Too funny.

First day of school '09 - '10

First day of 7th grade for Ez, 5th grade for Em, and 1st grade for Eli. Can't believe it, but can't avoid it, right?! Time is just slipping by too quickly.

Eva's early 5th Birthday Party

No, Eva's birthday is NOT in August. We threw her an early party because I had to use the party I bought for half price at a school auction. It was a mini party package at our local 'Excite' gym and seemed to fit her best. So we celebrated her 5th birthday in August. They all had a blast. I wonder how she'll take it in February when we tell her she's really turning 5, but we already had her party. Hmmmm....

Keeping them entertained

So this is what my kids do when they are bored. LOVE IT! Atleast they can keep themselves entertained, most of the time.

Summer Road Trip '09 part 4

Okay, this is the last installment of the Tui Summer '09 Vacation. Hope you got through all 4 parts without falling to sleep. We had such an awesome time. Can't wait for our big summer road trip in '10.

Summer Road Trip '09 part 3

Here's part 3 of our road trip.

Summer Road Trip '09 part 2 (long overdue, I might add)

No, I can't believe it's been several months since I have added anything to our family blog. I realized on this winter break from school that I better update this or it may take another 5 months before I catch up. I thought I would start with finishing our summer trip photos - so enjoy! (better late than never, right?)
